Moving on

Miss me? Well, I’ve missed you! I’ve missed blogging too. Has it really been that long? 😬 The thing is; life got crazy, life got busy, life got crazy busy. It wasn’t all “bad” it was just life. Plus I was kind of in limbo with the whole surrogacy thing. There was also the bullying and harassment b.s. a few years back, but I’m past that. I did quit blogging for awhile and even quieted down on social media to protect my family. But I’m back. Onward & upward. One person even apologized. So there’s that.

Anyway, I’ve kind of outgrown this blog. I want to have a more rounded blog and not just the “Mormon Surrogate” thing, even though I blogged about other things too sometimes. Also, I’m not an active Mormon like I was when I started the blog, and I won’t be a surrogate forever. I’m still happy to help if anyone has questions and I’ll be leaving this blog up as a resource. I hope you’ll join me at my new blog - coming soon. You might even be surprised with how our family has changed.

Thanks to all my followers and my supporters! I look forward to new adventures in blogging. Now I just have to think of a name and get a few other things set up. 🤔

A little change will do me good

I like change here and there. It's something new, something to look forward to. So what's new in my life?

(just a little note, I've been working on this blog post for a month or so...)

Well, for the past 5 weeks or so I'm really getting into couponing. It's fun and exciting to track down the deals and see how much you can save.

I tried my hand at gardening. I've planted flowers before.. with little success on the side of our house. I'm fine to put them in pots, but I suck at putting things in the ground. I decided it would be oh so fun and cool to plant fruits and vegetables, so we got grapes and raspberries and blueberries and strawberries and tomatoes and this and that. Some were already plants, some were seeds.. well the seeds still are seeds, haven't planted those yet. Nothing seems to grow out here. I don't know if it's the harsh wind or what. I know we don't have the best soil,(clay) but John dug it all out last year and put down nice topsoil. I guess I'll give it all time, but so far so NOT good.

*Update: I've been giving the garden a little more TLC, and it's doing better. I have lost the cucumber seeds, but planted the carrots and got cute little tomato starters for the kids. (Elmo, even...) My other tomatoes shriveled up and died before I planted them...oops. We'll catch up on our garden in a future post.

I read in a magazine article last month about creating a vanity. I thought how flipping cool is that? A space to call my own in my room to sit down and get all prettied up. So we've been on the lookout. I was pretty much looking for a cheap desk or something like that to convert. Nothing fancy or expensive.  Well when I mentioned my idea to my daughter, all of a sudden she had a vanity for herself within a few hours. No fair! Just kidding, it was fine and fun to help her with ideas.

And now I've got my very own vanity! I found a cute little desk at a great price, it even matches our bed.  I hunted down just the right mirror and lamp. I have so enjoyed sitting at my vanity to put on my makeup and at night to take it off. Plus, I'm enjoying my new room layout. It's got a little more flow to it and about 1/2 the clutter. Plus our sleeping quarters are more separate from the rest of the room.

Did you know I cut my hair? We're taking 8 inches G O N E!  I hadn't cut it that much for a long time. It was down the middle of my back.

I was ready for a change. I used to do it a lot more often. I mean it seemed to be about every summer I'd chop it off...

Summer 1995

Shortest I ever went. Winter? 1995 with my cousin Maloree.

 I'd usually be blonde when my hair was short... then come Fall/Winter, it would be fairly long and I'd go dark... sometimes a burgundy or marroon color... or once or twice purple.

If I was going through a hard time, I'd make a change... either a hair change, or I'd add to my ear holes... that's how I got up to 6 ear piercings. But I wanted to be different, so I had 2 holes in one ear and 4 in the other. I did NOT pierce my tongue for a change though... I pierced it cuz my husband talked me into it. CRAZY! It was fun while it lasted.. then I got sick of it.

Anyway, it was time for a change... and my cute friend was coming out this way to cut hair, so.......................

I'm still getting used to it. I never know what to do with my hair.

Kind of a boring post... but I tried to make it fun.      :)
